"Go Bananas!" Swing Set  and photo op

Client request: Interactive element for
"Selfie Museum" Style event.

The Pitch: More than just a photo op- the bananas and cream swing set plays with scale and context, inviting people of all ages to feel the wind in their hair as they "go bananas" and take a bite out of fun.

Masters in Industrial Design: Creative work Thesis project

Problem statement:

Problem Statement: Outdoor exercise plays an important role in living a healthy lifestyle. In urban areas, the options available to participate in recreational outdoor activities become less accessible as people age. Barriers to entry include time commitments, financial restraints, and less social encouragement than children receive. All of this can make it challenging for working and aging adults to access the mental and physical health benefits gained from physical activity in fresh air. Urban adults need a low cost, low pressure place to get outside and have fun getting healthy.

Flintstones / Jurassic themed  event area

The pitch:  The "Jungle Gym" is a  play on words made real. Jurassic forms to fit the event theme encourage playful and  humorous interactive activity and photo ops using    lightweight foam "barbells" and "dumbbells" that look heavy but are easy to lift.

Interactive experience and photo-op for an Alice In Wonderland themed private event.

The Pitch:  A riff on the concepts described in "Through the looking glass" wherein Alice falls through a mirror into wonderland. Mirrors flanking each side of the of the centerpiece create the illusion of a world beyond the mirrors, inviting event guests to play with their experience of space and reality as they walk around the piece.

The outdoor event was to take place from day into night, so the Cheshire cat face was backlit and the letters were painted in black light reactive paint, each visible only after dark.
