illustrated portraits
The pieces in this series were created in during the COVID lockdown in 2020.
These portraits were a created as a response to the isolation and fear I, like many others, was experiencing in the early days of the pandemic.
I asked members of my community to send me pictures of themselves from brighter days, and made a daily practice of interpreting their photos into dreamlike illustrations.
This practice helped us stay connected while socially distant, and strived to brighten our days by mirroring their light back to them.
